TSM faculty fraternity is one of the great strengths of the college. They employ diversified pedagogy tools respective to the subjects and the nature of understanding. Ranging from case studies to on field projects, our faculty engage rich pedagogy applications.
At TSM, we emphasize on case method of teaching. Business cases provide an excellent forum where the learners describe, discuss, debate and dwell on the merits of the case and associated learning. The atmospherics of the classroom transform into a corporate boardroom brainstorming sessions. With the able guidance from the best of the faculty members, the overall learning curve reaches the pinnacle. It is a plus for students that TSM has enrolled for Harvard Business Review repository cases. In an average our faculty members use 3 to 4 cases per subject. Besides, our faculty members prepare their own real time cases for the electives with real simulations using excel.

In TSM, we have in-house simulations created by our faculty members, besides we have also enrolled with simulation houses such as Capsim, Markstrat, and other simulations for the betterment for our students. Besides IT based simulations, we conduct field simulations for the subjects like Bottom of the Pyramid and Sales and Distribution Management.
We bolster classroom lectures by panel discussions where the students enter the realm of criticalthinking that enhances their analytical skills. Typically, it is conducted in small groups thereby ensuring maximum participation.
Simulations today provide a lablike environment in Management Education and we at TSM have adopted this technique for imparting key concepts and practices. Learning labs enable MBA participants to stumble upon the insight, hit the big idea and appreciate the challenges faced by decision makers in their respective spheres of operation.
The enticing sessions on problem solving act as the viaducts that are capable of providing the whole view of the problem. The learners are encouraged to come up with possible different solution sets. This enhances their problem solving skills.
Role-Play, the enactment of a particular role in a given situation is a great learning tool. It creates a list of nuances that exist because of the role as well as situation in the mind of the learner and gives them the edge while taking such kind of decisions. Further, learners are able to construct their own set of Do’s and Don’ts.
The success of any individual is also attributable to their team. Hence, the team projects assigned in small groups enhance team skills. Students are engaged in projects, field surveys etc. They realize the importance of conflict resolution and co-operation. It also gives learners a chance to know the strengths and weaknesses of their teammates. Peer learning also takes place.
We at TSM have come up with an innovative pedagogy that engages the learners in a very stimulating way. With a priori preparation, the students debate on a given bill as Parliamentarians while representing their given constituencies. They get to know the depths of a particular issue associated with the bill as well as law and policymaking. This also helps them establish the various interlinkages between Business, Government and Society.
Students are trained to prepare write-ups on current affairs, academic themes and subjects related to technology, they contribution to blogs, presentations and preparation of reports. Strong focus is laid on conceptual understanding and its diverse applications.
Rural Development Immersion Programme (RDIP) – TSM in active association with Tata Dhan Academy carries out the programme that aims at making socially responsible citizens for tomorrow. It is a great opportunity for our students to let themselves immerse in diverse social environments in the hinterlands of the cities. Students teamed up generate a proposal on status, issues and interventions related to livelihood, health, education and entrepreneurship. They also understand the roles of different stakeholders (Government,NGOs and corporate) in the process of development for a sustainable society.
“Books are a valuable treasure”. Keeping this in mind,we, at TSM, conduct sessions on reading of Folklore, Biographies of Eminent Corporate leaders and their works. Management books are up for review in addition to prescribed textbooks. Participants share their knowledge gained about the essence of the book with their peers.
