The Governing Board manages the strategic intent of the institution. The membership of the Board is periodically reviewed to assure suitability and relevance. The Board is led by Shri B. T. Bangera, Chairman of the Board. The composition of the Board is both internal and external, with a majority from external, to assure independence of the Board. The budget is formulated annually and reviewed periodically to accommodate changing expenditure patterns based on external and internal forces.

Dr. P. Saravanan is a professor in the area of finance and accounting. Earlier, he was a professor in IIM Shillong. His areas of interest are corporate finance, security analysis and portfolio management, corporate governance, and project finance. He has published 36 articles in various journals including ‘A’ category journals, which are ranked as per the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) classification. Six of his case studies on NSE and BSE listed companies were published by Ivey Business School and available in Harvard Business School case repository collection. He is a regular columnist in leading business newspapers like Economic Times, The Hindu Business Line, Financial Express, and Mint. He has written three books in the area of accounting and financial management published by McGraw Hill, Oxford, and Pearson Education publishers.
With over 30 years of experience in the fields of accounting and finance, he has been a leading academic and financial professional with multiple roles. He is also an independent director at TANSIDCO, a state-owned enterprise that promotes and supports small and medium enterprises in Tamil Nadu. In this role, he provides strategic guidance, oversight, and accountability to the board and the management on financial planning, budgeting, auditing, and compliance. My core competencies include financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, risk management, and decision making. Having attended an FDP from IIM Ahmedabad, one of the most prestigious business schools in India, he is passionate about advancing the knowledge and practice of accounting and finance in India and beyond striving to uphold the highest standards of academic excellence, professional integrity, and social responsibility. He has evaluated and adjudicated eighty-seven doctoral theses in the field of management, humanities and social sciences, and commerce. Bangera, an electrical engineering graduate from Bangalore and postgraduate in business administration from Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad, possesses nearly 38 years of industrial experience mostly with multinationals like ABB and Fenner India Ltd. For the last fifteen years, he has been working as managing director of a Madurai based company M/S Hi-Tech Arai Limited which is a joint venture with M/S Mitsubishi Corporation–Japan and M/S ARAI Seisakusho Co. Ltd., Japan.
He is actively involved in educational field being a member of board of governors of many management institutions. He is an active member of All India Management Association and Confederation of Indian Industry. He is also on the board of trustees of various non-governmental organizations involved in community development. He is also one of the directors of Quality Circle Forum of India.
Shri Lakshmi Narayanan was the CEO and president of CTS until 2006. He has played a leading role in the global information technology industry for more than 25 years, managing divisions and business units in Europe, India, and the United States. Since joining CTS in 1994, he has been instrumental in formulating the company’s strategy as well as building and managing the organization’s development centers in India, where he is based. A member of CTS’s board of directors, he spends time traveling extensively in the U.S. and Europe to meet clients. He recently served as chairman on NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies).
He began his career at Tata Consultancy Services growing through the ranks from developer to technologist, program manager, and then to business leader. He was a regional head of Tata in India when he joined CTS as CTO. He holds a BS and an MS in science and electronics from Bangalore University (University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering) and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He was awarded the Dataquest IT Person of the Year 2008 by the Cyber Media Group’s IT publication, Dataquest.

Professor N. Venkiteswaran was a faculty with the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) from 1988 till his retirement in 2014. He served as director of Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai (TN) during 2017-19 and earlier during 2010-12 on leave from IIMA. He is a graduate in economics from Madurai Kamaraj University and a chartered accountant (CA), having passed the CA examinations with distinction. He was also the recipient of medals for outstanding scholastic performance in the Post-graduate Management Accountancy Course (Part I) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He brings with him rich and varied experience both in the academia and in industry.
At IIMA, besides teaching core courses in strategic management, financial management and managerial accounting, he imparted specialised and highly acclaimed courses on mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring, company and business valuation, and corporate governance in the post-graduate studies as well as executive education programmes. He has also published cases and articles in these areas. He has also been chairperson of the business policy as well as finance and accounting areas at IIMA on various occasions. He was a visiting scholar with Group Essec, Cergy, France under Euro-India Exchange Programme during 1991-92. Earlier he was a member of the Central Direct Taxes Advisory Committee, Ministry of Finance, Government of India (2005-08) and a member, the Study Group on Mutual Funds set up by the Government of India (1991) for evolving an appropriate regulatory framework for the mutual funds industry in India. Shri R Gopalakrishnan studied physics at St Xavier’s Kolkata, engineering at IIT Kharagpur, and attended the advanced management program at Harvard Business School. He served in Jeddah as chairman of Unilever Arabia, as managing director of Brooke Bond Lipton and vice chairman of Hindustan Lever, and as executive director of Tata Sons. Apart from serving as a director on the TATA parent board, and Tata Sons, he also served several Tata Group of Companies. Currently he serves as an independent director of companies namely Akzo Nobel India, Castrol India, and Hemas Holdings PLC, Sri Lanka.
Shri S. Sridhar, currently chairman and managing director of Central Bank of India since March 2009, is a banker with more than 37 years of experience in commercial and development banking. Earlier Mr. Sridhar was chairman and managing director of National Housing Bank, the apex financial institution for housing and the regulator for housing finance companies. Central Bank of India is a leading public sector commercial bank with over 3600 branches across the country with 35000 employees and total business of Rs.2.7 lakh crores.
He is widely acknowledged to be an innovative and market-oriented banker having provided transformational leadership to the organisations he had worked in. A number of new development and financial initiatives were launched during his tenure in NHB including the country’s first residential property index, housing micro-finance, reverse mortgage for senior citizens, and electronic registry of mortgages. Being a pioneer in championing the concept of affordable housing in India, he contributed significantly to public policy formulation. Within a year of his assuming charge as chairman and managing director, Central Bank has recorded historic highs in total business, net profit, and asset quality. In particular, he provided a major thrust to infrastructure financing in Central Bank of India and developed its international linkage. Prior to joining National Housing Bank, he was executive director and chief operating officer of Exim Bank of India, India’s apex export financing institution between 2001 and 2006. He was responsible for initiating and developing the corporate and project finance business of the bank so as to expand its resources mobilization nationally and internationally. In 2006, he led successfully the first Samurai bond issue by an Indian entity which marked the re-entry of India into the Japanese bond market. Later, he also worked for about 12 years in State Bank of India, the India’s largest commercial bank in various capacities.
He has served in various national level committees and task forces for framing financial sector policies. He is a member of the National Council on Infrastructure of the Confederation of Indian Industry, India’s apex industry association. He is a member of the managing committee of the Indian Banks’ Association, member of the governing councils of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. He is also a member on the board of LIC of India and on the Board of Indo-Zambia Bank. He has been an invited speaker/panelist at national and international Conferences convened by UNCTAD, UNHabitat, UNESCAP, World Bank, Commonwealth Secretariat, and ADFIAP. He studied at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He was awarded the Lord Aldington Banking Research Fellowship for the year 1984 by the Indian Institute of Bankers.
Dr. Purna Banerjee is presently associated with Presidency University, Kolkata as Associate Professor. She is also well-known for her regulatory affairs with the UGC and other government education bodies. Presently she is in the board as a representative of the UGC.

Prof. J. Philip is currently president of Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bangalore which is one of the fastest growing business schools in India and it is accredited by AICTE. He was the director of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore during 1985-91. During his tenure at IIMB, the Institute had grown significantly in its activities and programmes. Harvard Business School and XLRI educated, he has a rich blend of experience in management, both in public and private sectors, educational administration and in human resources development.
He started his career at Xavier Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur in 1960, where he became dean and professor of management in March 1970. He was one of the founders of the MBA Programme of XLRI. Later, he left XLRI in 1971 to join Steel Authority of India Limited as the principal of the Company’s Central Management College in Ranchi. In January 1980, he joined The Oberoi Group as its vice president (Human Resources). He was with the Oberoi Group of Companies for over five years managing its human resources functions world-wide. He was the president of Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) during 1979-80 and the recipient of the Society’s Best Member Award in 1978. He is the founder president of the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) – the National Association of Management Schools/University Departments of Management in the Country (1988 – 92).
He was honoured by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) by bestowing upon him the Ravi J. Mathai National Fellow Award for lifetime contribution to the cause of management education in India. He is also the recipient of Ambedkar National Award for distinguished contribution to management development presented during the second convocation of AIMS, Visakhapatnam.

Professor Selvalakshmi has well over two decades of experience in educating students on Business Communication, Marketing and Strategy. Dr. Manjula is an Associate Professor in the area of marketing management with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry since 1999. With a passion for teaching, research, and consultancy in marketing, she has been an educator for more than two decades. Her expertise is in the area of sales and distribution management, product and brand management, consumer behaviour and strategies at the bottom of the pyramid markets. She was appointed as the dean of the MBA program during 2012-2016 and since 2016 she has been the Chairperson of Admissions at Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai.
