    Biography

Prof. Murali Sambasivan is an erudite scholar, skilled professional, and expert educator – and the apt choice to lead TSM. Noteworthily, he is present in the Stanford list of top 2% world’s most influential scientists (2021,2023) and in the ‘Top 10 Scientists’ in India in Business and Management by Research.com (2023,2024). Having completed his graduation and post-graduation in Engineering from prestigious institutions in Chennai and Mumbai respectively, he went on to do his PhD in the US in Management Science. Additionally, he is a CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), from APICS, USA. This immensely talented academician has a rich experience of more than two decades. He taught PhD, post-grad, and graduate students in Malaysian universities, his subjects being Quantitative Techniques, Statistics, and Operations Management.

He has also served as an educator in various roles ranging from research associate to senior professor in numerous institutes in India, Malaysia, and the US, winning awards for teaching, paper presentations and research. During his teaching tenure, he was also entrusted with several administrative roles, ranging from research committee member to coordinator, to advisor, and so on. Under his able guidance, over 60 students completed their post-graduation and PhD. Nevertheless, his diversified industry experience has given him deep insights into the business environments, models, and varied work cultures. Among these, one of his most noteworthy accomplishments is helping UPM get accredited by AACSB. ‘Not only did he draft the entire documentation — alignment plan, progress reports, and self-evaluation report, but also designed and implemented the assurance of learning system’.
