Rakesh G. Nair is a faculty and researcher with expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation, and agribusiness marketing. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. His doctoral work focuses on the branding and marketing challenges faced by SMEs in India’s herbal products sector. He blends academic insight with practical experience in agribusiness marketing and technology business incubation.
His professional career spans both industry and research institutions. He has been associated with firms such as Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (NFCL) and Malabar Chemicals & Fertilizers, as well as research institutions including ICAR–Indian Institute of Spices Research and ICAR–National Research Centre on Meat. Dr. Nair has published in leading journals such as Business & Society and the Journal of International Food & Agribusiness Marketing, and has presented at international conferences including the American Marketing Association. He has also filed patents on sustainable farming technologies aimed at improving livelihoods in hill regions. His research and consultancy interests include social entrepreneurship, technology business incubation, innovation and food and agribusiness, with qualitative research serving as his core methodological approach.
